President Trump offered some wildly helpful escape advice Tuesday to anyone trying to flee his new Everglades detention center, fondly dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz”: “Don’t run in a straight line—zigzag!” Because when you’re evading deportation and a 500-pound reptile, style points matter.
Flanked by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Trump toured the swamp-chic facility, equipped with chain-link charm and miles of man-eating moat. He beamed as he described the venue as “not a place I want to go hiking,” proving once again that cruelty has a permanent home at Mar-a-Lago.
Meanwhile, Florida’s attorney general bragged that escapees have nothing to look forward to but gators and pythons, which is probably why FEMA won’t be handing out trail maps.
Wildlife experts, ever the party poopers, pointed out that zigzagging is actually a myth and might just turn you into reptilian brunch faster. But hey, Trump’s not big on experts—unless they’re real estate appraisers or cable news pundits.
So if you find yourself in Alligator Alcatraz, take Trump’s advice with a grain of swamp salt, because he and his MAGA hordes have already turned mass deportations into blood sport.
