My father passed away more than a decade ago after a years-long decline into dementia. It's difficult to see a loved one slowly slip away, and I also fear it will happen to me or someone else close to me, so I pay special attention to news stories about these studies. These are all actual studies, even the nose-picking study. After awhile, it's difficult not to slide into a sense of hopelessness about it. So I'm sparing you from my usual political barbs this week, except to say that I fully expect a forthcoming study to confirm that Wednesday's GOP primary debate most likely brought us all one step closer to dementia.

I'll adjust the vocab a tad .. the gops (rhyme with glops) debatty guanofest was demented.
Etymology: "from stem of Latin demens "out of one's senses, insane, raving, foolish; reckless"; (demented/a less technical term than insanitas)," When one says 'barking mad,' there was a LOT of barking with the GunsOverPeople GreedOverPeople MiniMinds on gruesome display in Simi Valley. I'm just trying to get things in order, so that if the cloudiness that hit my mother, and others close, reaches out to me, at least my burden to heirs will be easier. Short-term memory loss has been an unwanted companion for some years ..
