Perfect description of where the Administration is right now with Iran: "They are hostage to a situation they created." And the cartoon depicts it flawlessly. A President with zero comprehension of the mindset of the "enemy", surrounded by flunkies with zero expertise. And all with zero appreciation and/or patience for diplomacy. Sadly, supported by too many ignorant Americans and a spineless Congress.
Both your art and your commentary are excellent. "Accidental" is the only kind of honesty they offer—and it's rare enough to be on the endangered—if not extinct—species list.
I love the blog and the art. Seeing trumpy all tied up is a riot. However, about the Strait of Hormuz-I have absolutely not the foggiest what trump is doing. Truly a deranged and dangerous toddler.
Loved the name of this operation, “Project Freedom”; that one wasn’t around long enough for Trump to add his name to it!
It feels a bit like Schrödinger’s cat, the way Trump is running things if, in fact, he is. On any given day, we’re asked to expect and accept conflicting statements and scenarios. If I’m not mistaken, as of 12:54pm EST, the war is ending. To be continued…
Well said, both visually and verbally. And now we're learning Iran has blown up a lot more of our stuff than we've been told. I'm old enough to remember all the lying about Vietnam. This is even more idiotic.
I am really fed up with Trump's ongoing circus act. It's not even a good circus act. He has made our country a tired joke among the nations of the world. We, the American people, are paying through the nose for this while trying to pay our own bills, obtain decent health care, and educate our children. Gas is over 4$ a gallon here where I live, my rent for my apartment increased over $2 hundred dollars a month, and I am still having to work at the age of nearly 80. My family is very busy working just to keep their heads above water. I have people my age approaching me on the street asking for money and help. This is making America great again? Like hell it is. Yet here Trumpy Dumpty is blithering about a ballroom that he wants We the People to pay for while he tries to make up what's left of his mind about Iran.
Barbara, it stinks that you are in that situation. I’m nearly 76 and fulltime caregiver for my bedridden husband. Medicare and our supplement have gone way up, as have their deductibles. Americans are being fleeced while the trump family and their buddies make billions off their rigged system. It’s sickening. The cartoon shows 47 bound in rope. It’s all of us, are bound like that too. I hope we can survive the next few years. For us seriously senior seniors, it seems questionable. All we can do at this point is keep speaking up. Sending you a gentle hug.

It’s also a perfect description of the administration, period. 😂
You are a genius of time and talent eternally. Stay safe..

Perfection there, Nick—both cartoon and blog.

Schrödinger’s cat is the perfect analogy. Only it really feels like we won’t find the cat alive in the box. Trying to find some hope here, though.
I hear you! Me, too!
The only thing that is sure is the fact that donnie's diaper is full and nobody wants to change it which makes little donnie angry.

Your commentary is always something I love to read. Always calm and straight to the point.

Dear Gigi,
Thank you a bunch. I hope to meet you someday. My best thoughts to you and your dear husband.
