It says something about the political moment we’re in when simply holding up a sign that says “No Kings” is treated like treason. Across the country, peaceful demonstrators have gathered under that banner, reminding elected officials that America was founded on the radical idea that no leader, no matter how powerful, stands above the law. Yet to hear some pundits and politicians tell it, these citizens are part of a “hate America” movement. Nothing could be further from the truth.
