Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. Secretary of Defense, faced a heated Senate confirmation hearing today, where he defended his qualifications while addressing allegations of excessive alcohol use, sexual assault, and financial mismanagement. "I’m not a perfect person," Hegseth said in comical understatement.
Hegseth, a military veteran and Fox News host, dismissed the accusations as part of a "coordinated smear campaign orchestrated in the media.” Oddly, all these “smears” took place well before Hegseth was on anyone’s radar for defense secretary. Apparently, the Democrats and the media are so diabolical they can see into the future and preemptively smear Hegseth more than ten years prior to his Senate hearing. Amazing.
