Conservatives love to complain about the dreaded mainstream media. Give me a break. They didn’t make a peep when the Dominion Voting lawsuit demonstrated that Fox News personalities deliberately lie to their viewers, and they lied about something as consequential as the 2020 election results. The mainstream media plays by a different set of rules, where fact-checking and accuracy are paramount. Conservatives project their own rabid dishonesty onto the MSM, and Fox is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many methodically dishonest “news” outlets, podcasts and influencers, some who were even being paid by Russia for their propaganda, that the facts don’t have a chance. The MSM is completely outmatched and mostly stuck behind paywalls. Democracy does indeed die in darkness, and we are watching it in real time.
