You are spot-on with this cartoon. Republicans want to fuss about little things but lack the courage to work across the isle in drafting a real plausible law to BEGIN to address the assault rifle. I grew up with a real respect for guns since my dad was a gun collector. We were taught respect for firearms, all about the safety and where it was located in different firearms, and firearm safety was pounded into us. I learned to shoot at 4 years old. It was quite a while ago. We used the firearms to hunt (sorry little animals) and to shoot trap. My father never owned an assault rifle—-there was no need. What would you do with it, hunt birds? (sarcasm). With every mass killing where a teen or child is the shooter and an automatic rifle is used, they should prosecute the parents. If the republicans refuse to make laws taking away these weapons of mass killings, maybe prosecuting dad and mom in every instance where an automatic rifle was used (and REALLY adjudicating them) maybe parents won’t be so quick to buy little Johnny that big assault rifle he really wants.
