Donald Trump and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton are two peas in a pod. Both have asserted that the 2020 election was stolen and have taken actions to undermine our democracy, both have successfully courted Christian evangelicals in spite of extra-marital affairs, and both have been credibly accused of crimes by staunch Republicans they, themselves, hired. It's further evidence – as if we needed any more – of the metastasizing rot in the Republican party.
