Climate denialism gets more absurd every day. Fossil fuel companies have long had a financial interest in downplaying climate change, but the companies who have to insure against climate catastrophes are under no illusions because the crisis is hitting them right in the wallet. Droves of insurance companies have recently announced that they will no longer write new policies in high-risk states, or they are pulling out entirely. Welcome to the new climate reality – and it's only just beginning.
How long will it take for people to wake up to this threat? It may not happen in our lifetime, but soon this planet will become inhabitable.
