Since it would be nearly impossible to impeach them, we must consider adding more democratically inclined judges to the Supreme Court to override them and try to undo the damage.

Excellent commentary and illustration to go with it. We need to get rid of the racists in all three branches of the government. VOTE, y'all, VOTE!

Democrats have proposed two pieces of legislation that could pass with a 2029 trifecta:

The Redistricting Reform Act of 2025 (Would require every state to adopt nonpartisan, independent redistricting commissions and prohibit mid-census redistricting); and

The Freedom to Vote Act (Would establish enforceable anti-gerrymandering criteria for use in redistricting, and authorize national mail voting, automatic voter registration, online registration, etc.)

Your cartoon, sadly, really hits the mark. Loved the all white crayons!

I'm still reeling from the gut punch of yesterday's ruling. How many states will be following Louisiana and suspend their primaries, too?

It's rich hearing the old worn phrase--"stolen election"--by the very people who are attempting to do just that.

Nick, I've decided you are the most brilliant multi-media political commentator of our time. Your cartoon captures the moment & the feeling; your essay fills in the background and provides the analysis that led to the cartoon. That is a real gift that I have come to count on. Thank you! Off to X!!

I agree. His essays are exceptionally well written.

Dead accurate and brilliant! Beautiful work, Nick.

The six rightwing "justices" can be compared to a bouncer at an all-white nightclub who prevents a colored person from getting in by stating: "No, you cannot come in because inside is a non-racist all white event".

Brilliant commentary and bang on art. Sadly, it's all too true. God help us all. It is for certain the politicians won't. Maybe if we all went and sat en masse on the front lawn of what is left of the People's House the current regime would get the message. I doubt it.

Dear Skepticat,

I am old too. I'll be 80 in February of '27. I, too, can remember when things were different. Not so much better but better than the cruelty, graft, and corruption we have every day now. I long for peace and justice for everybody. Please, God. I even long for my mother's goulash. It was ordinary but I liked it.

Your usual brilliant take on their usual undemocratic bushwah.

I'm so old that I remember when the Supreme Court understood and followed the law. Now two-and-a-half branches of our entire government are partisan rather than servants of we the people.

Truly shameful court decisions. Actually Heritage Foundation work in the form of Project 2025. Carried out by the justices they bought.

If it is illegal to draw maps that favor minorities, why is it not illegal to draw maps that favor whites?
