Unpublished Sketches

When I was working on this DEI cartoon earlier this week (everything is the fault of DEI now, right?), I came up with two different sketches. When I have more than one idea, I often bounce them off of some trusted colleagues and fellow cartoonists. I like both of them pretty equally, but Trump ordering the renaming the flight recorder “white box” was a little quicker to the “get,” so I went with that one. You can see the rejected sketch here. I liked the allusion to Trump’s orange skin, but it was just a little wordier tan the other, so I went with that one. You can see the sketches and the finished cartoon below.
