As a parent putting two kids through college, I have some mixed feelings about President Biden's student loan forgiveness initiative. It strikes me as pretty arbitrary. But I also don't have much patience for all the outrage from blowhards who benefited from PPP loan forgiveness and other forms of corporate welfare and government bailouts.
We have been subsidizing the big corporations and the banks and instead of so-called trickle down benefits, they take the money and either do stock buybacks or enrich themselves, it is time to stop giving the money to the rich and to start giving it to the Americans who actually need it. It will actually be beneficial for the country because people will have money to spend on something other than tuition.
In Biden's case, going around Congress is the main problem I have. I'm not wild about bailouts of any kind.
