Open your eyes, count to five, let out your breath, turn off the news, log out of social media, practice writing full sentences, and give your fight-or-flight, overstimulated system a rest. Read a book, take a walk, call a friend, not using Siri or whichever one you have on your phone. Write a real letter to someone, turn off your phone, and start slow, 30 minutes, and an hour, and the goal is to turn it off at a decent bedtime. Your anxiety level will drop, and you will sleep better. Turn on music, let it wash over your body. breathe in fresh air, and breathe out the toxins. Namaste, peace be with you. Our so- called Democratic governor has just commuted the sentence of a convicted felon who tried to interfere with the election. Polis has been duly censured by his own party. As nearly as I can tell, the Democrats have no plan, no strategy for the future, assuming that we have a future. The two -party system doesn't seem to be working that well. The Republicans have hitched their wagon to graft, corruption, and greed. This is where we are.

Isn’t it about time that Democrats gave some thought to how they’ll begin to repair all the devastating things trump and his commission of sea slugs have done and will continue to do? I have not heard one word about anything the Democrats politically will do different than the current Republicans, to save our country. Do they even have any strategies? Do they want to do anything besides complain? Do Democratic leaders even care about the shape America’s in or are they just Republicans in disguise? Where is Democratic leadership? And why is no one angry and vociferous? Why is there not one democratic leader—a true leader—out there in front of a television screen expressing plans to restore sanity to America.
Then it dawned on me. In the ‘60s, 70s and even into the early 1980s, there were WWII veterans that were in the House and Senate. Anyone who was alive back then—-how would they, both Republicans and Democrats, have politically acted and thought about trump and his actions? These men and women had to fight for the existence of the world in WWII. They fought to ensure democracy would continue and saw death, suffering and great pain. Have the “new Democrats” had life so good now that they think they can just float along and the assault on our democracy will just somehow fizzle out? Can’t Democrats be forthright, brave and in front of the world expounding what’s good and true? WHERE IS DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP?

When I was a teenager, my mom did not allow me to have friends whom she considered "fast," as that reputation would be passed on to me by association.
