Can no one stop this. Are all the guardrails protecting the citizens been demolished in the face of overweening greed and corruption? I do not consent to the Muskrat King and his basement trolls running their nasty claws through my personal data.

Thanks Nick for this powerful art on the loss of our most sensitive to unelected Elon and his vicious gang of storm trooper geeks. Must be stopped. Any Rs with a spine. This issue is nonpartisan and Musk’s theft of our data hurts all citizens. Keep up the good work.

Spineless Republican congress is letting Trump and Musk get away with this potential major data breach of the taxpayers information.

Anything coming out of the IRS is now suspect, and they must prove its authenticity to be able to use it to enforce anything. Want to audit me? Prove your data hasn’t been modified because I don’t believe you.

Wow, a Freudian slip in your last sentence: you called him "former" President. Oh that he were.

Confirm this please. Musk is going to have access to business information from his competitors such as Bezos?

And he is the one justifying his actions as founding abuse and fraud?

Excellent illustration. At any other time this type of activity would have been prevented by the safeguards created to protect the vital operations of the federal government, or, in the event of a slip-up, they would have been shut down immediately. The cowed (or complicit) GOP is continuing to let this happen.

Not sure about anyone else but here's the actions I've taken to protect my information and bank accounts. 1) I've placed a block on all credit checks with the big three credit bureaus. 2) I'm closing the joint bank account that we used for any IRS refund deposits, and opening a new account in a separate bank that only has a bare minimum of a deposit. 3) Called my credit card company and had them place some extra security measures on the card. 4) Called my credit union to ask them what they can do to shore of security on this matter.

It may not be enough to prevent a major nationwide identity theft, but it's at least a bit of a wrench to throw into the works.

How blatantly dangerously preposterous is it to assume, (rather, to ignore) what Americans think about Elon Musk, the unelected non American citizen, the richest man in the world, who has the most domestic and foreign conflicts of interest, with zero independent American government experience, who, undoubtedly is the most personally biased person to decide what he thinks is fraud and waste. The claim of transparency is a joke. The end goal of Project 2025 is to stop funding federal government agencies and keep the money for themselves.
