Great depiction of what SCOTUS did with this latest ruling. Between gerrymandering and the electoral college, we're no longer a democracy. When the vote of someone in Wyoming counts more than mine in a blue state, that's just flat out wrong. One voice, one vote.

Exactly!

What I came here to say, but not as well.

For some reason, seeing this brilliant cartoon with the 6 Justices attempting to stake a Confederate flag, reminded me how, back in January 2021, an upside down US flag flew over the home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. It was largely seen as support for the false claim, by President Donald Trump’s supporters, that the 2020 election had been fraudulent.

It doesn't appear that we've made much progress in our attitudes or beliefs since then; if anything, we're still litigating that "stolen election" and barreling backwards with lightning speed.

Love how the paper, which reads "Voting Rights Act," is stuck on the bottom of the Justice's shoe, soon to be lost and forgotten.

Superb blog, too.

As usual, you've brilliantly encapsulated a huge issue neatly in a perfectly sized space. Thank you.

They never did stop fighting the Civil War and advocating slavery and a 2 tier class system of the very rich and the peasants.

In that case, shouldn’t they strike down the electoral college immediately?

That should have been done years ago, but I fear we ought not hold our breath, though we should keep fighting for it.

In the history of this country, African-Americans are not viewed as human. We are stereotyped made into villains and other undesirable traits to make it easy to discriminate against a group of people you do not consider human. This thinking is in the DNA of this country to change that you have to change the DNA of the country you have to dilute it. I have no idea how that would happen. The felon was born in 1946. He is doing his best to take America back to when he was growing up it's exhausting and I don't even watch or pay attention to anything the felon in his cell block C come up with any more. It's so ridiculous. They should just simply say we are going to go back to the 1950s early 1960s and we're going to do a redo. I am perfectly aware of what white people even those who mean well think of Black people not until you can admit to yourself your own prejudice and biases nothing changes so I don't blame the felon in his Cell Block C the blame is squarely on the shoulders of every person who lives in America be you black, white, green, yellow purple whatever change doesn't come from Washington change comes from everyday people
