I did a few cartoons about this legislation earlier this year. But one aspect of it has generated a lot of national news. The Texas "Death Star" bill preempts a huge number of local regulations (because Texas cities are run by Democrats). One regulation requires a ten-minute water break for construction workers after a worker in Dallas died from heat stroke after being deprived of a water break. Apparently giving people working in over 100-degree weather a water break is an onerous burden on businesses.
