Consolidation of power at the state level, is a States rights argument made before the Civil War. With recent Supreme Court cases attacking the EPA and Federal regulation, this is another step towards a 1 party system in state government. 1 party government leads to less accountability, less transparency and greater corruption

It's difficult to imagine the state of Texas, or any state for that matter, even considering a regulation or law that would require depriving employees of water and/or rest breaks during this beastly hot weather. I anticipate lawsuits over deaths that will surely occur as a result of this heartless attempt at "pull yourself up by your bootstraps."

Kentucky used the same strategy to suppress gun control laws at the local level. This KY effort even goes so far as to make it a crime to propose a local gun law. Talk about 1 party control.

I work for King Soopers in Colorado. in our little store, a cooler is provided filled with ice and bottled water for the workers-usually. This practice has fallen off a little now that the summer is really started to heat up. We'll see how long bottled water will continued to be provided. The air pollution levels here in Denver are already very high. As a senior, age 76, I am struggling with breathing and getting all the way through my shift. God help those poor souls in Texas. Greg Abbott is a toad.
