Travel Daze

I'm currently in Mexico for a friend's wedding. Unfortunately, the airline, Volaris, is absolutely the worst airline I've ever flown. We were booked on a 6:30 a.m. flight this morning from Guadalajara to our final destination and they bumped us from the flight. We booked the flight months ago. Apparently their business model is to overbook by about 25 percent and then bump you if you don't check in two days prior (which you can't even do in the states).

Anyway, they sent us to the gate on standby. When we got there, there were about 20 other people on standby, so we didn't make the cut. Then they sent us around the airport to rebook for tomorrow morning, since the evening flight was also overbooked. Each time we arrived where we were directed to go, they told us we needed to go someplace else. This went on for quite awhile, and by the end of it we were moving all over the airport with our carryon bags, 50 pound roller bags, and personal items.

In the end, they gave us a $15 voucher for breakfast, which didn't work any of the places they said it would, and we ended up having to get our own hotel at our own expense. Everyone we dealt with gave off an attitude that they really didn't care, because they clearly deal with on a daily basis. Fortunately, my wife speaks a bit of Spanish, which helped out.

At any rate, I had hoped to post today on the awful Trump cabinet appointments, but it's been an exhausting day. I hope to get some posts published this weekend. And remember, never fly Volaris airlines.
